On 16 September 2024, a study tour of university professors from the implementing universities of the EU Erasmus+ project UniClad (‘Enhancing the capacity of universities to initiate and participate in cluster development based on innovation and sustainability’) began in Kauno kolegija (Kaunas, Lithuania).
Participants from Ukraine, Moldova and Azerbaijan joined the study tour. Poltava State Agrarian University was represented by Larysa Kuzmenko, Head of the Kvasnytskyi Chair of Animal Productivity Biology, Head of the Milk Local Product Expert Centre, and Ilona Yasnolob, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Law Chair, UniClaD Project Coordinator from PSAU.
The study tour began with a presentation of Kauno Kolegija.
The tour participants learnt about the history of the college and its structure as a multidisciplinary public higher education institution. Kauno Kolegija trains specialists in the fields of computer science, engineering, technology, healthcare, humanities, social sciences, arts, pedagogy, management, law and agriculture.
The tour took place on the college campus. The organisers of the study tour paid special attention to the work of laboratories of various food production facilities (milk and meat processing, brewing and wine production, innovative technologies for storing and processing fruits, vegetables and mushrooms), technochemical and microbiological control, as well as laboratories of information technology, automation and robotics.
